Louis XIV Stone Bust

Louis XIV Stone Bust by Trudon presents the Sun King as a wax portrait with a raised chin and an imposing posture. The design draws on François Girardon’s 1699 equestrian sculpture, once displayed on Place Vendôme. A smaller bust preserved at the Louvre carries this royal portrait into Trudon’s collection. The piece is created in collaboration with the Plaster Cast Workshop of the Rmn–Grand Palais.
