Figuerie Scented Candle

Figuerie by Trudon evokes the King’s gardens, where fig trees catch the first rays of spring. Fresh cedar and fig leaves contrast with deep woody notes, expressing the interplay of light and shade. An ethereal humus accord adds an earthy dimension to the green composition. Hyacinth and a green bouquet soften its character, while sandalwood, patchouli and moss deepen the garden atmosphere. The inspiration recalls Louis XIV’s passion for figs and his gardener, Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinie, who planted more than seven hundred fig trees in the royal kitchen garden at Versailles. This dedicated space became known as the Figuerie. La Quintinie also refined espalier cultivation along sun-warmed walls, helping the fruit ripen despite the sometimes cold climate. Manufactured at Trudon’s workshop in Normandy, the candles come in four formats. The 70g Petite Bougie suits travel and gifting, while the 270g Classic Candle offers an everyday option. The three-wick 800g Intermezzo is designed for larger rooms, mantelpieces and dining tables. The five-wick 2.8kg Great Candle brings a sculptural presence to spacious interiors and outdoor settings.
