Joséphine by Trudon evokes a flower garden in the muted light of dawn, where roses, jasmine, camellias and irises awaken. Bergamot, kaffir lime and spices brighten the floral composition. Chinese camellia, Egyptian jasmine and Turkish rose form its heart, softened by powdery iris and white musks. Indonesian sandalwood adds a gentle woody foundation. The fragrance recalls Joséphine Bonaparte, the future Empress and passionate botanist who bought the Château de Malmaison in Rueil in 1799. Inspired by its surroundings, she created a romantic garden filled with flowers from around the world. Trudon’s story remembers her affectionate view of these plants as her subjects, whose happiness she sought to ensure. Manufactured at Trudon’s workshop in Normandy, the candles come in four formats. The 70g Petite Bougie suits travel and gifting, while the 270g Classic Candle offers an everyday option. The three-wick 800g Intermezzo is designed for larger rooms, mantelpieces and dining tables. The five-wick 2.8kg Great Candle brings a sculptural presence to spacious interiors and outdoor settings.
